This gas discharge tube arrester has broadband operation from DC to 6 GHz with low RF insertion loss, ideal for LoRaWAN 915MHZ 868MHZ long fiberglass helium antennas and other high frequency services such as 3.5 GHz WLL and UNII/ISM at 5.2 – 5.8 GHz band applications.
It is also an excellent lightning arrester for 2G, 3G, 4G and LTE services as well as 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Ham radio and other low frequency applications.
This model has N-Male and N-Female bulkhead connectors with rubber O-ring seals for mounting through the enclosure wall, or can be used with a surge arrester in-line.
The prote ctor passes DC and is therefore suitable for applications where DC is transmitted over coaxial cable, such as remote amplifiers and low noise amplifiers.
Both connector ports are equally protected – it can be installed in either orientation. A ground lug on the case provides excellent grounding.
Coaxial arresters should be installed between outdoor antennas and radio equipment to protect equipment, structures, and personnel from high-energy electrical pulses transmitted through coaxial cables from direct or nearby lightning strikes.
Surge arresters should be installed as close as possible to the equipment to be protected, usually where the coaxial cable enters the building. They can also be mounted near the antenna for extra protection
